Patricia Wells, much beloved and highly regarded American expert on French cooking, and her husband Walter, former executive editor of the International Herald Tribune, chronicle their enduring love affair with France, its cuisine, and each other in their delightful memoir WE’VE ALWAYS HAD PARIS…AND PROVENCE: A Scrapbook of Our Life in France. The book is told in alternating and complementary voices and includes personal photographs and over 30 recipes.

Join us at the Boat Street Cafe for a joyous evening of food and wine celebrating Patricia, Walter, and their life in France.  Chef Renee Erickson will be creating a Francophile feast in honor of these two high-profile expatriates.  Each guest will receive a personally singed copy of WE’VE ALWAYS HAD PARIS…AND PROVENCE.

A popular cooking teacher, Patricia Wells was the food critic for the International Herald Tribune from 1980 to 2007, and she is the bestselling author of Vegetable Harvest, Patricia Wells’ Trattoria, The Provence Cookbook, SimplyFrench, Bistro Cooking, and Patricia Wells atHome in ProvenceShe also wroteThe Food Lover’s Guide to Parisand The Food Lover’s Guide to France, now out of print. This will be Frey’s first live interview since his appearance on Oprah discussing his 2006 memoir, A MILLION LITTLE PIECES.

WORDS & WINE begins at 6:30pm and cost to attend is $45/person, which includes a signed copy of BRIGHT SHINY MORNING, appetizers, and wine. The featured wines of the evening are Chateau Ste. Michelle 2006 Dry Riesling and 2005 Canoe Ridge Estate Merlot. A no-host bar will also be available.
